Can't help with location of salvage yards but any chance you could pick up a hidden hitch I have at my friend's place in Portland just off I-5 and bring it down to LA with you?

I have no experience with the yard, but there's a guy in Orangevale near Sacramento that has lots of 67-72 parts. You can find him on sacramento craigslist, just search c10. He requires an appointment as far as I know.

They are in Vancouver Washington, and specialize in Classic car salvage, I have never stopped there but I have heard they have a lot of stuff. |

well, here in Sacramento, there is a dismantler guy that only does 67-87 Chevy trucks, he has a ton of stuff but it is at his house so it is by appointment only. His name is Joe and his number is 916-470-1432....he has a huge yard full pf our trucks and a shop full of dismantled trucks. There is also a place in Rancho Cordova called Super muscle parts. The guy has a lot of repro parts in stock which means no shipping. he has beauty rings, gauge clusters, buddy buckets and drop spindles all in stock. their website is http://www.supermuscleparts.com/

You can check out Vintage Chevy Trucks in Fremont (vintagechevytrucks.com) . Check them out online to see if it's what your looking for. Bill, the owner has pretty much anything you need for 67-72 c10's, including the little stuff. And everything is from a 67-72 truck, but he has "newer" parts from salvaged trucks too. His shop is about 40 minutes off of I-5.
cheers

Re: Truck Salvage yards CA, OR, WA
If you are looking for parts you can often find what you are looking for at the L.A. Swap Meet in Pomona. It's boasted as being the largest of its kind on the west coast. It is once every two months (see internet). I have found some really killer deals for my 70' C10. Just a thought...

Re: Truck Salvage yards CA, OR, WA
Been to Pomona over 100 times over my lifetime and have found some great deals. I figured since I was going to travel out of the area I was hoping to cruise some salvage yards for even better pricing or hit up some of the vendors on the way to save on shipping for heavy items like an Eaton 4.10 No Spin third member Im looking for.
Appreciate the suggestions so far, keep them coming! |

It's probably been done before, but a Salvage Yard official/unofficial list is a great idea. Nationwide. Good job getting it started!
