35 years on Oregon coast = rusty truck

This truck has been sitting there since I was a young'un , it has been getting shorter by the year , it was used in a firewood business by my neighbor .

My brother is looking at buying a GMC 9500 cabover truck from the guy for the v6 engine , he wants a $100 for the whole truck .

but i thought oregon cars were generally not rusty.or is that further inland from the coast.i drove 21 hours to buy my blazer from vancouver wa and it has no rust.

Nearly Everything on the Oregon coast rusts I live about a 1/4 mile from the ocean and it's brutal .

The Oregon Coast eats steel for all three meals {can you say RUST}. There is the remains of a 275 foot ship that ran aground in 1906 which is still visible on the Northern Oregon coast, the only thing remaining are the ribs of the bow section. For a very interesting read, Google "the wreck of Peter Iredale".

As for fresh trucks in the Northwest (Oregon<>Washington) they exist mostly east of the Cascade Mts. or inland of the coast in southern Oregon.

That's why I bought my 85 Chevy it was in Winchester Bay , Oregon and it was pretty cherry rust wise ran like crap though , it was a rust survivor .
