91 S10 mild kustom build
Hello everyone. i recently ran across this forum and figured id join. I have a S10 for my daily, and i also have a 64 short bed big window project(not pic ready) and a 47 ford(chevy powered) but here is the S10 how i got it.
wasnt bad when i got it, only one i could find in my budget with a untorn seat. ran fine, but desperatly needed a tune up. for a grand it was perfect, cuz i couldnt really work on it right away with two broken hands, but i had my GF help me take care of the mechanical things, and then knock out the shady rear suspension with dropped springs, blocks, and air shocks replacing the previous owners 3 and 2 inch blocks stacked ontop of each other... i still need to redo front suspension with dropped spindles, and dropped springs, and i will dehump the lower A arms while its all apart(have all the parts already) also sanded the primer down from the top body line down just to change things up, and got some Cragers for it. since that ive switched the 2" blocks for 3" and added a second generation blazer rear sway bar. Got crazy with the sander while i had it out for prepping a customers tank, and then decided to stripe it. Then remounted the roll pan, and shaved the tailgate handle. and that was what i left it like while i went out with the Navy for RIMPAC 2014. I hope to pick up on this when i get back in AUG. Heres the 47 i mentioned earlier. ... and its build thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/t...thread.817884/ |

Thank you Indian113. the previous owner had those put in, so im curious as to the quality of the install, but the truck came with the tailgate shave handle kit, so im hoping the po used a similar kit for the tails, and had a shop install it.. ill find out when i start getting it ready for paint in sept.

Re: 91 S10 mild kustom build
I was really torn on that grill at first. I passed it up at the yard the first time cuz it has a couple grill fins broken. but when I went back about a month after and saw it there again, I figured I better just grab it. im very glad I did now because I really like it on these. I wish I could find another one now that I could section out so that the "nostrils" continued through to the headlight cut outs, and then just put two billet grill sections in there that covered the headlights.

Re: 91 S10 mild kustom build
ordered some HID headlights. Got the headlights in!!! but waiting to unwrap them on Christmas still... they look pretty good though, and of high quality. that weekend I should be good to change my core support out, and then do headlights hopefully. this past weekend I was super busy with family stuff, but I did sneak in some time on Friday to pull the bed and do the fuel pump. overall it went really smoothly and pulled it all off and had it back together in just a couple hours. heres some more pics. |

Re: 91 S10 mild kustom build
update time!
took some leave, and 2015 started, so for 2015 im on all new suspension bought these the day after truck, and finally installed with a half coil cut. then dehumped the lowers then decided to box the underside those turned out super ****ing heavy, sooo... then it fell off jack and smashed the oil pan... what a ****ing headache, but replaced that. then got to see it on the ground finally. its finally low! also changed my core support for MR. MO, installed new headlights with 6k HIDs, painted grill, and put the clear corners in. all in all, im pretty happy with it, I need to get an alignment and tires now. |
