Question about lowering 68 SWB

I am getting ready to install the suspension on the 71 frame I have blasted and painted. I have installed a CPP c-notch on the rear and will be using drop spindles in the front. I think I will install 3 inch drop springs in the rear and if it looks like it rides too high I will put 1 inch blocks on the rear end later. I also have flipped the trailing arm mounts on the crossmember to keep pinion angle in check to allow for the 3 inch drop.

Question I have for the board is will I need an adjustable track bar for the rear or can I run the stock bar with new bushings installed?

Also I think I can run normal rear shocks with a modification to the shock mounts on the crossmember and flip the mounts on the trailing arms from side to side. Anyone see any fault in this logic?

3" drop will not necessitate an adjustable track bar. Nor will it require the C-notch.

I dropped my '69 4 1/2" in the front and 7" in the rear with a DJM axle flip. I did not C-notch. I have leaf springs so did not need the adjustable bar.

Most likely, you will want to go 6" spring (at least 5") and then add a block if not low enough.

This truck is being built by me and my 14 yr old son for his high school/college transportation. I want to give it an aggressive stance without any driveability issues. I know most dont c notch the rear for a 3 or 4 inch drop but I dont want it hitting the bump stops all the time.

I had to use one on mine" truck in my avatar" It's 4.5" in front and 6" in rear with coil springs.
Need to get it at the real ride height if you use the weld up type.
