Question on a Build Sheet

I have a 68 C10 LB with a build sheet or options sticker in glove box that was painted over. I took Goof Off and cleaned it off to a point that any more cleaning would take the options off. What was left after the cleaning wasn't real readable. DOES any body know how to get the build sheet for my Truck or where to start looking for it if at all possible. Thanks in advance. mjgord51

Re: Question on a Build Sheet

In seat springs either back know or bottom, behind gas tank or under floor mat.

x2.

The build sheet itself exists only in the vehicle if at all so if you can't find it there then it is no more.

Now - on the other hand - the build content/invoice may be available through GM of Canada if your truck was built in Canada or if it was built domestically for Canadian sale. Search for Vintage Vehicle Services (GM of Canada).

The GM Heritage Center archives house information only for US built and sold vehicles, starting in about 1976 for pickup trucks.

Re: Question on a Build Sheet

Also - post up what you have, and your interpretation.

Some folks here have the RPO codes memorized and we may be able to piece together what you have using context clues.

Re: Question on a Build Sheet

Many of us (me included) are missing pieces of or the entire build sheet. One guy mentioned look for it in springs or under floor mats. The glove box is another option. Beyond that... Not good news.

Re: Question on a Build Sheet

IIRC the build sheet and the "SPID" sheet are two different documents. Coming across the build sheet is far rarer then the SPID.
If you contact the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center they may be able to help if you give them your VIN. 1-800-222-1020. I don't know if this is still in operation, but it was a couple of years ago. Good luck!

Re: Question on a Build Sheet

Unless your truck was built in Oshawa (plant code 1) for the Canadian market there is little point in contacting VVS or spending the $75.

Have you decoded the VIN?

Can you get some good pictures of the SPID? Often a separate left and right half work best when faint.
