Glove Box Won't Close Fully
So I've recently been trying to install the glove box door with a new repo lock and striker, but I can't seem to get the door to close fully. I've consulted the assembly manual and I think I have the striker installed correctly. But no matter what I do, I'll push the door flush and then let go and it will fall an inch before it hits the striker. I hope the pictures might help reveal the issue.

Re: Glove Box Won't Close Fully
had the same problem on my '49. if its the same set up, there should be a tab that sticks down that the latch engages when the lid is closed. bend that in GENTLY and see if that helps

Re: Glove Box Won't Close Fully
You MAY have the thing the latch catches on installed backward. That will definitely still allow it to latch but too loosely. Just a suggestion.

Re: Glove Box Won't Close Fully
FAM does not show it clearly but I also think you might try reversing the striker. I think the tab need to be at the front of the opening, not back as you have it installed.

The dash in my 57 doesn't look like that. I wonder if someone hacked your dash, or was that a mid year modification. Here's a pic of mine.

I think I may have mistaken the direction of your picture. I though it was looking at the front of your dash and someone had cut it.

Re: Glove Box Won't Close Fully
I suspect your repro lock. If its a little longer than the original, it won't hold the door up against the rubber stoppers. Try to move the latch plate as far in as possible, maybe you will have to dremel the screw slots a bit to let it move foreward more? Good luck. My door and latch plate and lock are all original, and work good.
