Anyone know where I can get this spring and the piece that holds it on? I removed my rear drum and saw this mess. When installing I realized the two were missing and can't seem to find them online. I tossed my front drums a few weeks ago when converting to disc or I would have pulled it from there.

Anyone swapping to disc that might be able to help me out? I'd imagine the front pieces are the same.

You may need to buy a "Hardware kit" to get one. If you have a REAL parts store in town, not a "McParts" store but a real one they may have them in stock. It's amazing how long stuff stayed the same and they often have even old car and truck stuff in stock, at least the one I go to here in town.

And for that matter, just about any spring from a hardware kit for anything up through the seventies should work, even though the spring may look different. What they look like is a nail with a flatened end instead of a point. That goes through the backing plate and then a spring that has a washer like thing with a slot for a hole in it. You push the spring over it and rotate for the washer slot to go crossways over the head of the "nail" and there you have it. Here you go, a kit for $5 but you can probably get one at your parts store.

Thanks! I looked into those and the spring might work, but they switched from the thick pins to those thin ones at some time. I have a Napa, but not any older parts places that I know of.

Just take one of yours and go in there and see if they can find it. Most parts guys in REAL parts stores love doing that. After selling air and oil filters all day long (believe me that is a partsman's life) they are dying to do something like that.

At least that should tell you what the parts look like. Used they have to be off a truck or car with Huck brakes.
