Moser m9 purchase
Hey gentlemen, I just ordered a moser m9 housing with 35 spline axles. I'm getting a chassis built. The center section is $$$$ my question is can I get a center section from somewhere that's cheap to use as mock up? I want something cheap , I won't use it, just need it so the chassis can be on the ground. When budget permits I'll get what I need to get. Thanks guys

Re: Moser m9 purchase
for a 9" the bearing retainers will hold axles in place. A 35spline axle should slip into a piece of 1-1/2" roll bar tubing if you were worried about the weight on the axle bearings with nothing to align them. With no centersection you will be able to reach right in and slip the tube over both axles. (just put it on one when you install the axle)

Re: Moser m9 purchase
He's saying you don't need the center to mock up the chassis, all you do is slide a piece of tubing over one axle, then install it with the tubing at the end (bearing installed on the axle of course) and then install the other axle on the other side sliding the tube so that both axles are now inside it and the tubing is in the center of the diff, now retain the axles with the retainer plates.
You can now mount wheels on it and put the weight of the chassis on it with no need for a center section untill you get the one you are going to use. To get a mock up center section to work you would need a 35 spline spool or diff of some sort to fit your axles, not worth the effort when you will likely be purchasing a complete built center when the time comes.

Re: Moser m9 purchase
35 spline will also require a big bearing center section . You could take a junk center and pull the carrier out and leave the caps off and bolt it in with said piece of tubing installed if needed .
