1972 K10 4x4, 350 4 speed
I have recently replaced the front passenger side u joint on my 72 k-10. I am having trouble finding what the front axle is. I am not sure if it is a Dana 44, or something else. At first i was having trouble getting the outter spindle nut off. come to find out there was three sets screws in the nut. I asked a few 4x4 gurus and they had never seen this before. thanks

D44 sounds right. Post pics of the diff cover or look at it and search for pics on the internet.

If it is a Dana, on the front lower drivers side corner you will find the model. See pics...this one is a Dana 44.

Zoomed out view of location. Hard to see, but lower right corner of pumpkin casting on the flat spot.
