60-66 Fawn Exteriors
I am really not that familiar with the names of the colors for other years but assuming they were likely the same. I seem to be finding that the exterior color of mine is not as common as other colors. My truck was purchased new of the lot by my Grandfather who used it as a Farm Truck. Many Farm Animals were in the bed (cows, pigs, etc) which explains why mine is pretty beat up. Mine was not an original Custom but I have been adding to it. I am on the fence about painting behind the grill white like the originals I have seen as I have only seen one picture of a fawn truck with the white behind and the truck was pretty rough where it was hard to really make a decision. Overall I would like to see pictures of any Fawn Exteriors but am also really interested in seeing your grill!
I also really like my color as depending on the light it can look very dark but very light. |

Only the band surrounding the grill was originally white behind the grill is still satin black.

Re: 60-66 Fawn Exteriors
Sorry, misspoke - That is what I mean to say is the band not the part actually behind the grill. Thanks for the clarification.

This beauty belongs to another member here. It just looks so awesome I saved the pic in my tablet for inspiration on repainting my own. Love the fawn exterior.

Here are a couple of grille shots of my non-factory fawn color '66 sporting the white surround.

Re: 60-66 Fawn Exteriors
I think I have seen this truck riding my bike in Main Co. If not I pass one that looks just like it.

Thanks McCoy,
My dad bought it new and he painted it before he gave it to me. TR

Re: 60-66 Fawn Exteriors
Thanks, TJ,. To me a painted grille needs a matching surround. Chrome grilles don't necessarily. Depends what kind of other trim paint you have to match it too I guess.

Re: 60-66 Fawn Exteriors
I have been told that all trucks came with the white surround? Can anyone confirm that?
