KickDown Switch
I recently put a SBC 400 in my 69 GMC truck, it has a Turbo 400 transmission. The truck had a 350 in it to start with and it never would go into Passing Gear, ( bought in the last year)
It's first trip out in the truck , it still didn't go into passing gear, I did a little research and saw that some of these trucks had a piece above the gas pedal, upon checking it doesn't have one there, and another place showed a piece on or next to the Carburetor . I really don't know anything about this area , ONLY THING I DO KNOW IS THAT IT HAS A ORANGE WIRE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION ( 1 wire) but nothing to hook it too . COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO BUY TO GET IT WORKING AND I SUPPOSE I COULD Goggle how to install unless someone has a link to click onto . ANY ADVICE IS APPRECIATED . Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: KickDown Switch
The easiest way to fix it would be to go to Lokar and buy thier switch. The factory switches are hard to find and the brackets are inpossible. In 69 I believe they mounted at the carb. I have one of the switches but no brackets. What the switch does is apply 12 volts to your orange wire when you floor the gas.

Re: KickDown Switch
Nice looking motor!!
Well at least for awhile until you get a breather on the passenger side valve cover and your pcv hooked up. And replace that rubber fuel line before you have a fire. Do you have a cable or a rod for your throttle? |
