Jud thanks for the pics. Do you think the red hub dial on the k20 is the correct OEM example for 1970?

I think so. After looking at the 1970 blue and white fire truck on ebay at the moment, this red dial without the spicer logo matches that and may be correct. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351375396324...6324&viewitem=

Ask and ye shall receive. Its a K30 candidate and my 1st Longhorn. Thanks to boardmember Blue Bullet for this one. It needs some rust repair on firewall seam and lower cab but the cab floor and the bed is good. Its a CST Custom Camper too which is not lost on me.

Kinda unusual to see base guages in a CST and a AC truck! Theres something relaxing about the color scheme on this truck, i kinda like it.

future Cummins den, or something else fun, maybe a 8.1.

I am glad it went to a good home. It will be a sweet rig when you convert it.

Re: Bought a batch of trucks

Nice batch of trucks! That's weird on the longhorn emblem placement. I thought only 68 had it above the marker lamp and the 69-72 had it in front of it? It's in really nice shape though. Nice score.

Took you long enough to bring it home :-)
What is it like 4-1/2 months???

Will make a nice truck all finished up.

Glad I paid you a visit, we share a lot of the same views on these old trucks

Good point, I think this is a early 69 since its a CST with no headliner or cargo light

My new red tow rig is sans powerplant and the other one is allergic to salt, and winter just ended

Thoughts on the emblem placement?

Agree it is probably an early 69 built in 68 (no VIN posted). Suspect the emblem placement was a running change vs a hard date.
The 69 brochure shows the 68 location but those are often pre-production vehicles or altered pictures for printing.

Now to be fair you pulled the engine out of the red truck! :-)
But with a trans issue...
Anyway we actually were looking at that Longhorn 20 in late November '14. Wish I had known it was a CST.
