1971 Window regulator Fix

My driver side window regulator is stripped where the crank handle won't grab. I was able to remove the window regulator but I had to cut off the regulator post beforehand. Is there an easy way to remove and re-install the regulator fully assembled ? Or do I rivet after the regulator assembly is installed.

Any help appreciated.

Do you have both the door glass and the vent glass out? I know the ones Ive taken out I removed both glasses before hand and the regulator was able to be worked out.

Re: 1971 Window regulator Fix

with the door panel off, and the windows out, you drop the whole regulator assembly through the big hole in the door. The screws for the main window channel should be taken out so that you can move the window back far enough to get the vent window back it, but you do not need to assemble the regulator inside the door. I know there are a few walk throughs on how to remove and replace the regulator through the search function on the site, but this one covers the majority of the issues.
