Project: 50 Shades of Gr.... Nope I can't make myself do it

Here's a thread for my 86 C10 daily driver.

Got the truck from my dad so it's been in the family since 1994.

Figured I would fix this truck up while I wait to start on my 63 double dropmember.

Got my 2013 1LE Camaro running good so I should spend money on this truck, right?

Hopefully I'll be able to paint this thing towards the end of summer. We'll see how things go.

Bought a set of (blems) 20" Boss 338's from Tommy Lee (ksbrktracer) and fixed the blems by polishing out the bad spots:

Wheels and tires mounted. This thing needs to be lowered something awful:

I'll take care of that once the men in brown deliver my McGaughy's 4.5 / 6 drop kit.

Also got the complete polyurethane bushing set from Energy Suspension to get installed

Tires are: front 245/45/20 and rear are 275/40/20 (same size as factory 5th gen SS Camaro)

Re: Project: 50 Shades of Gr.... Nope I can't make myself do it

Front tires rubbed quite a bit.

You guys suppose once the back is done it'll level out?

Anyone else had problems with inner fender clearance on a 4.5 drop?

Re: Project: 50 Shades of Gr.... Nope I can't make myself do it

It should raise the front some once the back gets down, but I ran 245/45 on my blue truck with a 5" drop and it rub from time to time. My yellow truck has 245/40 with 5" drop and zero rubbing so far.

Re: Project: 50 Shades of Gr.... Nope I can't make myself do it

Got the rear done today. Front tires rub way too much. I believe the front dropped much more than "advertised".

Can't even turn full round without rubbing...

Ordered some coil spring spacers (1/2") so we'll see how that works!

Spacers are said to raise front end 2.5X - 3X height of spacer.

Maybe 1.5" will give me clearance I need

Any pics of the spacers you're talking about? Truck looks good by the way.
