Long bed to short bed

Im shortening a long bed to a short bed on a '55 2nd series Chevy truck. I've searched and read all the posts I can find on the subject, but still don't see an overall length for the short bed. Can anyone get me a measurement? Also see conflicting wheelbase measurements. Is it 114" or 115" ??? Thanks -Bud

Re: Long bed to short bed

I think the bed sides need shortened on both sides of the fenders. Link in my signature will get you to a site with spec manuals. Scroll down to year index link.

Don't know if you saw this thread...

It is the one I've been hanging onto for when I shorten my truck.
