Need help please

So I got a steal of a deal on a 1979 K30 with 49k original miles on a 400 small block, out of california so it has all of the smog and emissions on it, including the smog pump (I believe its the pump directly under the alternator) that is still hooked up.
What I need help with is I want to remove all of the emissions and not needed vacume lines, but i dont have a clue as to what i can remove or where to start. I dont want to just start disconnecting things not knowing what im doing.
So can anyone give me some very detailed and step by step instructions on what exactly i can remove.
I plan on puting headers, intake and carb on it at some point this summer.
PLEASE HELP AND THANKS!!

Re: Need help please

The only things that need vacuum is the distributor and the trans. Everything else is unnecessary.

Re: Need help please

Eliminate everything you can and just cap off all the vacuum ports on the intake and carb. The EGR valve itself can just be unplugged. It won't operate without vacuum. The tube going from the AIR pump to the cat will have to be plugged off somehow.

Re: Need help please

Don't get rid of the smog stuff when you remove it. Some states require that factory emissions equipment remain in place in order to pass emissions. Someone may want that stuff.

Re: Need help please

So the only thing i need to leave is the vacume to the distributor and the trans?
Nothing to the carb?
What about the hose or tube (i dont know what to call it) that goes between the old air box and the manifold? Can i just disconnect and leave open or does that need to be plugged off?

Re: Need help please

The smog stuff will probably just go on ebay/craigslist to someone who wants/needs it

Re: Need help please

On another note, can anyone tell me where the vacume line that runs the heat and a/c vent inside the cab comes from or originates?

Either at the back of the manifold near the distributor or to the back of the carb. Anywhere it can get full manifold vacuum.
