72 door panels
Ok, so I finally got a nice of OEM plain Jane black door panels but I now need arm rests. Any opinions on who sells reproductions of high quality?? Also wondering if I can install wood grain inserts on these and details of what it requires. Maybe some pictures. I am looking at the aluminum reproductions at the truck shop and wondering if they are any good and also is there a trim ring required. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: 72 door panels
You will need to drill the holes for the retaining ring to go into. It keeps the wood grain attached to the door (not reproduced). The new aluminum panels are good quality, though the wood grain pattern is not 100% authentic. Trevor

Re: 72 door panels
You will have to buy a used set of rings from a board member, eBay, or junkyard. Might have to buy a junk set of door panels for the trim. Trevor

Re: 72 door panels
I have a question relAted to the cheyenne door panels. I have a pair of custom deluxe door panels with the scroll pattern and stainless trim. I always thought that the stainless trim could be removed and the cheyenne wood trim installed in place. Is this true? I have a cheyenne but it had some "customized" panels installed by a previous owner. I ran across the dArk green panels I have in another cheyenne (without the woodgrain for some reason) and since they were pretty nice, repainted them black and installed them in my truck.

Re: 72 door panels
yup just remove the stainless trim, add the wood grain inserts, then reinstall the the trim. Be carefull not to break any of the tangs that hold the trim on.
