head light knob removal
Ok,,,,I'm taking the bezel with all the gauges in it out of the dash on a '69 chevy short bed,,,,how do you get the knob for the headlight switch off. Looks like the knob for the window wipers has already been replaced with one thats got a set screw in it. Might I have to do the same thing with the headlight knob? Thanks,,,Bill

Re: head light knob removal
1. Pull the knob all the way out (headlight on position).
2. Reach up to the switch behind the dash. 3. Locate the small button/plunger on top of switch. 4. Press button/plunger. 5. Pull the knob shaft out. Don't forget to put the shaft/knob back in to turn your lights off.

You will have better luck if you only pull the knob out to the park light position before you push the spring loaded button in.... Here is a picture of it. (not my pic) LockDoc

Re: head light knob removal
Someone ought to chime in, since the wiper knob is probably also going to have to come off: There's a set screw on the wiper knob. Flathead, small screw that will let the knob for the wipers pull off.
