Information on moving my truck in an ENCLOSED trailer from Maryland to Alabama

. . . .

Since my truck is only worth HALF of what I have in it, if I sell it . . . I guess I'm going to have to have it hauled to my new house.

I did a search, but didn't find anything up to date on companies that move vehicles from one state to another in an ENCLOSED trailer.

I applied to some " vehicle hauling " websites and a lot of brokers sent emails with quotes that ranged from $750 - $1400.

Some people have said to stay away from the brokers, because it could take a while for the truck to arrive at the destination.

Can anyone recommend one of the bigger companies over the others ?

. . . .

Hey Steve. What part of Alabama are you moving to? You may want to contact GMCNUT. He just had a few trucks hauled in from out west.

Re: Information on moving my truck in an ENCLOSED trailer from Maryland to Alabama

I just did this type of move earlier this year. I explored the broker thing, but didn't feel comfortable with my C10. Reliable is a viable option, but they came back as the most expensive by far. I also looked at all of the large specialized carriers such as exotic and horseless carriage as not really cost effective.

I ended up using Uship. I had great luck with the vendor I chose on there. You can either dictate the amount you want to spend or put your move up for auction. Do your research on their website, and check out your prospects very thoroughly. I used a guy that already had a move delivering to my pickup point in South Texas, and he was able to drop to me in TN on his route home. It was a great experience. Good luck.

Brokers take their fee up front and contract with whoever. You won't know what the company is, who the driver is or when , if ever, he will deliver your vehicle.

When I moved from Florida to Arizona I used these guys: http://www.intercitylines.com/

Enclosed truck, GPS tracking, drivers cell phone provided and a guaranteed delivery day and time. Can't beat them with a stick.

Re: Information on moving my truck in an ENCLOSED trailer from Maryland to Alabama

I just shipped my 57 Belair from Oregon to Ohio using These guys as a broker:

http://nationwidetransportservices.com/

I did some research and they had good reviews and my experience was great as well.

So I paid 1400 for enclosed door to door service. I called in and finalized my order on Monday at 4PM East coast time, they had a guy picking up my car at 5PM west coast (2 hours later). It was dropped off at my house at 630PM Thursday.

It's only one experience but I would go with them again.
