Yep I absolutely love the idea of the old sixer under the hood but with modern HEI and alternator and such. Makes a cool truck, anyone and everyone seems to just throw a V8 and when I was younger that is all I wanted to do. But now I want to change that. Even with the step side bed, I use to hate the spare tire carrier, but now it has definitely grown on me.

I wanted to the same to my 62. After I looked at price and the labor I decided against swapping to a V8. Now i'm really glad I didn't do it. When you have the truck out you would not believe how many people are impressed that there is a six under the hood and three on the tree. Origional is cool!
