When my module died I was driving down the road and boom the truck was off... coasted to the side of the road and was able to get it started again after a minute or two. 100 yards down the road it was done and it was all I could do to get off the road.
Replaced the module for about $12 bucks and used the included goop and all has been good...Tthat reminds me I need to pick one up to throw in the glove box next time I'm at the parts store.
It sounds like to me you have something else going on.
