NOS white styled steel wheels. Need info - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have 2 NOS white spoke, style steel wheels. They both have a red and gold pin stripe on them. I have another NOS one that doesn't. Any ideas why? These wheels are dated 11/01/77, and my non stripe wheel is dated '79 and idea on value? Thanks

The stripes were a running change...

As noted in parts book" IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO MASK WHL MTG SURFACE & APPLY SUITABLE WHITE PAINT OVER RIM AREA TO COVER PAINT STRIPES"
(Spelling and caps are right from parts book)

Early production had codes CR,CS,CX
later was BW

Would be interested to know codes on yours...

Value is hard to say ....E bay sets the market...

I would say 100.00 each as loose units ...but a matched set of 4 could go high.
I bought a NOS set of the PH7 alloys last year for 700.00

Chevy Sport model were regular production units; only the hood ornaments , stripes and body colored bumpers with impact strips were unique items.

Also GM like the other 3 subcontracted the bulk of their wheels to outside vendors. these contracts changed almost yearly in many cases.

Yes...I think the MW code is motor wheel as manufacturer.

The GM specified id code is usually found by the valve stem...BT in the picture I have here of one PA6 wheel for an 80

Very unusual for a GM wheel not to have a letter code by valve stem;shows there is an exception to every rule.

Does your 79 wheel have a 2 letter code by the valve stem?

These are actually different than what the OP is posting. These were another style but much more rare.

Your wheels are aftermarket, not factory GM. Notice how the center cut outs are beveled in the GM wheels, and they have holes for the center caps to bolt on.

I actually told him that in a separate post a while back. The factory ones all look essentially the same with curved in edges on the triangles. At the time when these came out basically all wheel companies were making white or chrome wagon spoke wheels since this style was so popular at the time.
