OK, my 2 cents worth. I would use the burb MC on the fire wall, you've got plenty of room. Now as far as the TBI, I did just the opposite, ran carbs for years and when my 350 finally dropped a valve I used a TBI and 700R4 out of a '96 van. Picked 4 MPG right away and no more carb issues.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Family emergency had me laying off the project for a while. Got the front end torn down and getting ready to mock up the ifs.

This shows what a newbie I really am. With the mustang II IFS, do i need a seperate engine crossmember or does the engine share the IFS crossmember?

You can go either way on that. In the picture above I have stands welded from the cross member to the original frame. In that picture it was a AMC Pacer cross member right before I installed a MII unit. For the MII I just cut the bottoms at the cross member, welded a cross brace and made it a separate engine cross member, then I welded in the MII stuff. Both ways work fine. One thing to think about is with the stands you can drop the oil pan without removing the engine.

I used these mounts and welded them to the frame. The boxing plates from the MII installation give a perfectly flat place for them. These are for an LS but if you are using a small block there are lots of cut to fit mounts.

Ok. IFS is welded in. 235 and granny box are gone. Getting ready to pull the 350 out of the donor 'burban. Gonna be taking off the TBI and switching it over to a carb. Unfortunately the new 4 core radiator out of the burb is too wide. For those of you that have done a small block swap, what type of radiator did you find works in this application? Also, where do you guys recommend looking for a frame mounted master cylinder/power booster? Exploring my options for using the burban's master cylinder on the fire wall vs buying the frame mounted to save room in the engine compartment.

Well. I have neglected this thread for awhile. Rosie is coming along. My friend, who is extremely gifted, has been doing the fabrication work. The TCI mustang II IFS is in. The S10 ZR2 rear axle is in with a C notch. The 350 and 700r4 are in. We decided to ditch the TBI that came on the donor engine for a new edelbrock carb. New rack and pinion. New master cylinder and power booster. New aluminum 3 core radiator with electric pusher fan for clearance will be in soon.. Bought a new wiring harness that wil go in soon. Opted for 235/75R15 tires on 15x8 rallies. Should tuck nicely with the 2" drop spindles. The previous owner used vise grips as window cranks and and door handles soooo had to invest in new window regulators and door mechanisms. Awesome.
