Any lifted truck pics?

Thinking about throwing some factory wheels back on this truck I just bought with some tall/skinny tires. It has 315/75/16's now and I don't care for the offset. I want them to tuck back under the truck again and try to save the paint. So I am looking for ideas. Maroon truck is mine how it sets now and the black truck is what I am going after. I am limited on sizes if I go to 18's because I want a white lettered tire. So if you have anything like that post up a pic of if there is a link somewhere.

Black truck is probably running 245 or 265 tires which is why they don't stick out. 315s are a wide tire.

Re: Any lifted truck pics?

From what I looked up the rims are 18" Cadillac wheels and the guy who owned it just stated that they were 35's. I see that in the height but they don't look 12.50 wide to me. I like the look, just have to figure out what combo it is going to take to get there on a factory wheel. I have been looking at newer 2010+ wheels.

Re: Any lifted truck pics?

Could a guy put on fender flares or do they make them for the step side? Or is that an option?

Re: Any lifted truck pics?

If I was in your position, I would first deal with that rake on the rear of the truck. Hopefully there isn't a body lift on there...as far as tire, I think you may be better off with a 295/75/16. The 295 is a lil closer to a 34'' tire and less width then what you are currently running right now. It'll definitely fill in those gaps better.

I think I am just going to take the lift off and either go back stock or find a good riding 2.5" lift. There is no body lift on it. It has this kit here: http://www.superlift.com/lift-kits/6...-lift-kits.asp with 5" springs and blocks. It sits higher than I like and is rougher riding than I like. I got a good deal on another set of 315/75/16's but I haven't mounted them yet. Will probably just see about trading the lift and wheels off or something.

Re: Any lifted truck pics?

Well you do not necessarily need to go back to stock in order to get a good ride...The best way is also affordable!
Pair up a new set of torsion keys (Ready Lift) with a good pair of shocks like Bilstein. You'll retain the factory torsions as you will just be switching out the keys, you'll be able to run a bigger tire, and the ride will be better than factory. Personally I believe that's the cleanest look for this truck with having a good ride.

Funny that you say that. I have been considering a 2.5" key set. I was looking at the set that comes with the keys and 1.5" lift blocks for rear. I assume that is a leveling kit. I am looking at different brands to see what they offer. I need to start finding the stock pieces to go back on. I will need rear springs and I believe the lower control arms have been replaced. I am not sure if they are same as stock but they look like they might be longer making the tires stick out farther but that could just be me. I need to look into them a little longer. I they have SMV stamped into them. I can't really find anything on the web about SMV.

I bought some new 315/75/16's for the truck but haven't put them on yet. I will probably just try to sell or trade them off. I imagine I will buy some 8" rims instead of the 10" it has now and just run a 285/75 or may a 255/85. Something along those lines. Nothing drastic. Oh and I was thinking Bilstein as well. I had them on my 91 Z71 and really liked them.

Re: Any lifted truck pics?

Well I won't be taking the lift off. I called Superlift and talked to their tech. I was told that there would have had to been some trimming of frame mounts and upper control arms in order for this lift to go on. So I guess I will be putting a couple new upper ball joints in, alignment, put the new tires I have for it on and go from there. I don't really want to sell the truck but unless I want to swap the whole truck over to another frame I am not seeing much other choices. I guess time will tell what I will do.
