1969 C10 LWB -- owned for 36 years. 350/TH350, 3.08 posi, 1st Gen Vintage Air, recent AAW wiring harness, 5-lug conversion, 1985 spindles and brakes.
1982 C10 SWB -- converted from 250-six to roller cam 350, Vortec heads -- sold
1981 C10 Silverado LWB, 305, TH350C -- sold, but wish I still had it!
1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.
Retired as a factory automation products salesman.
Worked part-time over the years for an engine builder and a classic car repair shop.
Member here for 24 years! This is the very first car/truck Internet forum I joined. I still used a dial-up modem back then!

On my dash the bezel holes taper down from front to back.it was trial and error on cutting the back of the bezel to find where the gauge would fit tight coming in from the front side. Be careful to only cut a little at a time to get the right fit. They will kinda wedge in there when you hit the sweet spot.The gauges came with the metal stirrup that goes over the studs on the gauge back but I made some with longer legs so that they would reach the bezel.I used all mechanical gauges which is why I had to cut as much stuff as I did.electric gauges would have been simplar

OK, so you're saying you pushed them in from the front until the fit got tight, and then secured them from the back. Got it!

I just don't see how the gauges in the above pic are secured.

His are different from mine and I had to look close to see it but if you look at the back of the gauge it looks like it has 2 thumb screws on it if you look close you can see a black collar that goes all the way around the gauge and under thumb screws..I think that's what holds his...but my eyes ain't what they used to be..ha ha

as mentioned, in from the front, then the gauge carrier snugs it up tight on the back. if your careful with your grinding, you can angle the gauges a bit for better sight lines, & yup, 2 1/16

No fair 77c10...your dash makes mine look like a hack job...ha ha..yours looks great..I was more after function on mine..its just a ol farm truck anyway.

I missed his question about factory gauges...I bought a full set for mine but then realized you have to change everything for them to work so I went with auto-gage
