Caddy 500's are getting hard to find but NOT a turd BB that's for sure. 1970 was the highest rated year where they were rated at 375HP/500lbs. in stock configuration a comp. ratio was 10.25:1 for 1970 only. Yes, to build one isn't cheap beyond stock-therss a few companies dedicated to stroker kits for them-nobody makes any kind of performance head that I'm aware of-Edelbrock makes intakes for them....porting the stock heads and going with a stroker setup is the best you'll do with them-long rods and a heavy crank build a lot of torque but to go upstairs with them at all you really need modifications to the oiling system.
