Morning guys, I always thought these bearings just pulled out...she's in there...any ideas or procedures that have work for you? Also if you have the seal part number it would be appreciated...looks like another part of the truck that was not maintained

Re: Saturday Morning Blues Rear wheel bearing help

I use this to remove: http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performan...FRAwaQodiqEAGg

And this to install http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wm...FQiqaQodOGoAuA

You can use a stout piece of wood to install as well. Make sure you clean the ID of the axle housing with some emry cloth or scotch brite. If you don't want to buy a puller, you can always use a grinder with a carbide burr to cut the bearing into pieces until you get to the OD race, then carefully grind a notch in it until it can be pulled out as well. Obviously you need to be really careful not to hit the axle tube.

Thank you I appreciate the answer...do you think a slide hammer might do it?

Re: Saturday Morning Blues Rear wheel bearing help

Those removal tools I linked from Jegs thread onto the end of a slide hammer. If you have any type of hook attachment you should be able to make it work. For that matter, you could weld some sort of "T" shaped item up that threads onto the slide hammer and get it to work.
