Couldn't help myself
This old C60 has been lurking in a shed two miles from my house, old guy finally figured it was time to send it on down the line.
1965 C60, 348, 4 speed, original tires, 3466.1 miles. Runs great. Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with it. |

Looks good !!
Extremely low mileage. Other than keeping it a Fire Truck, it would make a great Rollback. Bill

Nice find, Great truck. My Rescue Squad had 8021 miles when I got it, so your less then half that, not even broken in yet eh.

My nephew also wants flames on it !
I bought it thinking roll back, but after looking it over and cleaning it up I think I will Ebay it to someone that will leave it a fire truck. If that doesn't work then maybe I'll cut it up. The fastback on the cab looks like it's welded to the cab. As far as the miles, it probably has a ton of hours on the engine being a pumper. |

That looks like a Howe body. It's pretty stripped of the fire equipment but would be as solid a starting point as you could find if you're looking for a medium duty.

Body/conversion is a Hortonville Apparatus, made in Hortonville WI. Date on the truck is 1/1965 and the fire unit is 3/1965

I bought an old fire truck too and thought there might be money in doing parades and all but to date no such luck. Your truck is pretty well stripped of the equipment. Mine came with a bunch of stuff but you can probably get some of the items at a fire department muster if you were to keep it. You will find there is not a lot of people who like these trucks as fire trucks so making a tow rig out of it may be a good idea
One of the guys on here is a Hamerly expert /historian they did pumper bodies in PA. He may have some ideas for you he replied in my fire truck thread.. his name is Eric Ruggeri

Truck sold on Ebay and the new owner is in the Appalachian mountains and plans on using the truck to pump water to his cattle. The old girl lives on.
