Near survivor 1972 C30 Longhorn 4x4 For Sale on Ebay

I found this truck on ebay and some one needs to go buy it. It is a very nice truck in very nice shape for the age. 454 TH400, original paint, no real rust issues I could see. Tilt, tach, heavy duty suspension, and A/C! This sure would have saved me a lot of work.

More pics on the owner's site.

Decent truck, a lot of work went into that converting it. Wonder if it is a longhorn frame

Nice one. Don't think I have ever seen a rear sway bar off a GM class A P37 motorhome before. Very beefy bar.

Re: Near survivor 1972 C30 Longhorn 4x4 For Sale on Ebay

for a C30, it has to be a longhorn/133" wb. Been watching this one - 2nd time on ebay, $7300 reserve not met first time around. It's worth that in my book, but who knows what the reserve is. Note the high compression - ok in the owner's home town, might be an issue to address at lower elevations. Personally, I LOVE this truck. But just not in the cards right now. The D44 seems a potential weak point, but I say that only because EVERYTHING else is so heavy duty. I thought of you first when I saw this one, Dieselwrencher! The fact that it's a highlander C package in white/orange w/orange plaid just blows me away, of course... But a C30 and 4x4 convert, so nice.

Being it is an original C30 Longhorn, and the owner put in his ad he converted it, I'm guessing it is. But you never know.

I'm not hip on the D44HD either, but it would be fine with the truss. Definitely what I set out to do originally. I'd love to buy this truck. It's just out of my truck funds for a while. Haha

I too love this truck, it should be parked next to my hugger orange 70 blazer. If I didn't just get my wife a new car I would be all over this truck. All It needs is a Dana 60 front.

Yep, we won the last ebay auction (reserve not met) but he still would not give up a price to get it done. Trying to get a price for it was like pulling teeth!

The response was that he is testing the waters and that Hot August Nights was right around the corner and to be patient. I'm out, this will not be a cheap truck to acquire but that's OK I'll keep on building mine. Good luck to those still interested I think someone will need some deep pockets to get this truck bought!

Oh I get it! I was thinking there was a johnny cash edition of a 69 truck, if so, I would search high and low for one! now that you say that, I do remember a listing for one, it was white? Had some sprayer system in the bed? I believe it had turbine wheels too. Same truck?

I'm wondering if this isn't my old friend Mark's old truck. He lived in Sun Valley, Idaho and built one like this in the late-80s. It started off as a C3500 and is now a K2500

The guy I was dealing with claimed he has owned it since 1975 and was the one who did the 4x conversion. I wondered if he is a owner or partner of Carson Truck & Auto Repair?

Nice truck, nice color....and pretty well optioned out but a little heavy duty for my liking.
Too bad he doesn't have the tailgate for it.
Should be interesting to see what it finally sells for.

I really like the truck, but I couldn't and wouldn't spend $10k or more for it. It gets too bad of mileage, doesn't have a D60, or even enough power for me.

That's interesting.
He is now listing it for approximately twice of what the last auction bid was at when it ended. I guess this is a marketing strategy to see if thinking big brings bigger money?
or...maybe its just not quite the right type of truck to bring in the bigger cash buyers right now, noting that it is pretty heavy duty and that might be a diminished market compared to the SWB trucks.
It is a nice truck...but it might be a bit of an acquired taste and thus have a more limited sell market.
Interesting to see how this round goes!!
All Good

Cool truck but not $15g cool. He might get $8-10g if he's lucky for an older modified one.
