69 c10 door panel removal?
I am trying to get my door panel off to change the weather stripping & rubbers etc.
The related posts seem to skip the actual panel removal. Mine has the chrome strip at the top that seems to be screwed into the door. I removed the 4 screws at the bottom, and have tried to roll the panel up to release it. It is binding up about 4" tipped. I have tried pulling it down and out, doesn't seem to want to come. Is there a trick or step I have missed, don't want to ruin the chrome strip if I don't have to. Thanks |

it should just pull right out after you take out the four screws. no need to remove the chrome trim

Pry bar or hammer/screwdriver?
Oh wait. This isn't the Ford truck forum.

Remove the arm rest, window crank, and interior door handle first.

once you take off the arm rest window crank door handle and the four screws you pull out at the bottom and then down. don't be timid with it, mine took a bit of force but it comes out.

Re: 69 c10 door panel removal?
No arm rest on this one unfortunately, door crank & window crank removed.
Does it pull straight down, or out and roll upwards? |

out and pull down. it might be stuck from 40 plus years of coke and gooey stuff being dropped on the door

Re: 69 c10 door panel removal?
It should pull out a bit to clear the window and door cranks, then slide straight down. As far as mechanics go, if it got any more simple it would be square peg in the square hole, no offense implied

I thought that's what looked like should be happening, I will just apply more determination. Thanks
