Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

72 Chevy Cheyenne Super, very clean. These are getting hard to find in shape like this.

For $14k you can find them all day long in that condition or better.

14k is a crazy price. I like the truck, but come on now.

Re: Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

If your gonna ask ask for crazy money right? I don't follow that theory when I price my trucks like the 05 Z71 crew cab I'm gonna price this week around 8K. i think that should be a deal for someone, but then again I may be the poorest dealer in the area.[ But I sleep at night] Jim

Re: Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

I don't know - I think the price is for the originality - and not that far off. While it's not hard to find a Cheyenne Super for under $14K, it is very hard to find one that ten previous owners haven't completely jacked up, stripped away parts, or "restored" to their idea of a Cheyenne Super. So, I'd have to submit that it is very hard to find a very original Cheyenne Super in this condition (it "looks" unrestored) for under $14K. Darn nice truck. Now, if someone wants a half ton super with an old camper for $14k - that's an entirely different story. I personally do not, but am sure someone does. (I want a 3/4!)

Jocko, I totally agree. I would like to see all of them with 90K or less you can find all day. No offense to anyone but I would just like to see a couple more like this for sale 14K or less

Very nice truck. I'd be willing to pay half of his asking price.

Re: Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

Very nice truck and I'd love to own it. I agree 14k is all the money for the truck but it is nice. I cannot understand why on a lot of trucks like this when the A/C gives up the ghost or stops working they remove the compressor, brackets etc. and to replace that stuff is expensive especially on a BB truck like this one. Case in point, yesterday I though I finally found a good Southern USA unmolested 72 Suburban with a BB and A/C, 3 seats and a touch of rust. When I got the pics of under the hood bingo the original compressor was gone and a different one was sitting in front of the engine instead of off to the side.

Nice, straight, clean truck. $14k is definitely the top end but you gotta start somewhere as a seller...

Only thing I noticed is the hubcaps, I actually like those caps better but I thought the Supers all had full wheel covers. Not trying to beat the truck up, but everything else is original appearing so that stood out to me.

Re: Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

those are correct, PO3 "chrome hub caps" were standard on the supers, PO1 fwc's were optional.

How about 2k for chevy, 8k for rust free gmc, both BB. Now there's a comparison, haha.

Do you know of anyone selling rust-free unmolested big-block '72 Cheyenne Supers with big blocks for $7000? Links please! I need two.

Do I think it's worth $14K? Nah. But everyone not selling a truck thinks they should be free. Then when we sell a truck, it's gold.

7K is what it's worth to me. If you feel like paying more have at it I paid WAY less than that for my unmolested rust free 72 Cheyenne Super big block. You look long enough and in the right places you'll find one too.

Well yeah, we know you're not going to buy it. That doesn't mean the price is somehow incorrect.

I paid $6500 for my rust-free big block, highly optioned, unmolested truck, though it's a 2500 Longhorn. This one is a regular bed and a C10, so perhaps more desirable.

All we need to know is what they're SELLING for, not what you or I -think- they should be selling for unless we're active buyers with the highest bid.

Re: Local CL add, not mine 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super

Another factor in pricing is the motivation or reason the truck is being sold. Did they just watch reruns of Barrett-Jackson and figure everything old is worth lots, Is someone fishing to see if anyone will bite on their high asking price, is the seller going through a divorce and needs cash, has the seller found the 1964 Impala SS Rag with a 409/425hp with a 4 speed they always wanted and needs to raise cash. When I'm dealing on a vehicle after the niceties are out of the way I always try to find out the motivation for selling. I believe in this particular case with the seller asking 14k for that truck, they are on a fishing trip.
