72 big block A/C cab

3/4 GMC cab for sale. It has typical rust in the rockers and cab corners. Has a little rust in 2 of the 4 cab supports. No rust in cab floor and the top is real nice. Zero rust in visor area and just surface rust on outer top. Uncut dash. Will be sold as bare cab with no trans. cover. $450 in NW AL.

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

I'd say I'll take it, but need to ask how long it can sit before pickup. My hauler needs work I've been trying to get to. Definitely this summer and hopefully sooner than later. Also, curious how bad the corners are. Could I get a shot of each just to get an idea?

Once paid for, I can hold it as long as you need. Both cab corners will need to be replaced in my opinion. I'll get some pic soon.

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

This is the only other picture I had on my hardrive - I'll get some more Monday if you need them. The inner and outer roof areas are super nice. Visor area has nothing but smooth blue paint! Outer roof has some surface rust, but no signs of rust-through.

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

Ok Josh, I appreciate that. Don't need pictures of the corners, I'll take your word. Dime sized or fist sized hole, they'll need replaced. I'll take it. I'll be sending a postal money order, so you know the routine...Thanks!

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

If I'm not mistaken it goes to the first person that says "I'll take it" which was me.

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

Moderator please help. Does an "I'll take it" trump an "I'll take it pending pics"?

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

OK, using my best judgement of the rules and verifying with other members, the first "I'll take it" period gets it. That's you, special-k. Sending PM.

Thanks Josh. This isn't Simon Says, it's buying truck parts.

^^^ Since he can hold it as long as I need, that means I'll take it. Then, I made it a solid commitment...first, no matter how I worded it. I hope this makes it more clear to see Josh made a proper decision

Because it is his item to sell. Missing out is a part of things.. everyone seems to think we can dictate who sells what to whom lately. Not trying to offend, the guidelines on selling are just that.. guidelines. In the end if he was making a deal with Tim and sold it, so be it.
Please do not be angry, we all miss out on stuff time to time

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

Thanks. Liz. I was not trying to make a under-the-table deal with Tim or selling it to whoever I wanted. I've been a member a long time and understand that the guidelines state that the first "I'll take it" gets it - not "I'll take it" with a stipulation added. I've seen this happen many times and been a victim myself, but the first solid commitment wins.

Re: 72 big block A/C cab

I know it's over and I should leave this alone, but it's all here for all to see and I'd like to clear my name of any thoughts of shifty action.
I don't know how it could be seen any other way than how it turned out. Two guys respond, both with a stipulation, with me being first to confirm. There was no doubt on my end whether I would take it, I was considering Josh's needs. The other person's pending was based on needing pictures of an area already described as being "super nice". Both were sent PMs, as well as right here in the thread my stipulation was eliminated by Josh stating "Once paid for, it can sit here as long as you need". That happened before anyone else posted any interest. The next morning when I get on here I see Josh is ok with waiting for pick-up, along with someone else posting as if I didn't exist. I figure the proper board etiquette here would be for the second person, who sees there is already something brewing with a guy ahead of him, to hop in line in case it came to my deal didn't go through. At least, that's how I would have handled it if the shoe was on the other foot. I see this place as a community of fellow truck enthusiasts and I won't step on my brothers' (or sisters') toes.
I took on a 1,500 or so mile round trip in the middle of my busy season after slim pickin's all winter. No matter what, once I say I will take something, I will follow through no matter what it takes. I'll buy it, consider it sold, you've got a buyer, I'll be by tomorrow to pick it up, there are many other ways to state a sale is confirmed. Pending is not one of them.
