Torque Wrench
Have a coupla nuts on my Harley that are reversed thread lefty/tighty lrighty/loosey .Found out my cheapo Torque wrench don't click in the counter clockwise motion .Hell my PROTO wont either. Had to borrow my buddys snap on to button it up . Are snap-on the only ones that you can torque reverse threads ??

Re: Torque Wrench
Heck, the Pittsburgh brand ones from Harbor Freight are capable of that.

Re: Torque Wrench
My cheap Harbor Freight ones work in reverse, so do the CDI torque wrenches that I bought to replace the HF ones. (CDI is a Snap-On company. Without the truck warranty, price, but they do have a Taiwan head with a USA body.)

Re: Torque Wrench
A bit of trivia. Did you know your torque wrench is not as accurate in the counter clockwise direction? None of them are.

Re: Torque Wrench
I have also been taught to not go to either end of the range.
If in doubt, check any calibration certificate that came with the wrench.

Re: Torque Wrench
The thing is generally speaking you only need to torque bolts in a clockwise position. If a bolt is reverse threaded aka counter-clockwise it is done so because the rotation will keep it tight.
Example... table saw nut to hold the blade on |

Re: Torque Wrench
Very true, in my case, my job called for reverse thread fasteners to be torqued.
My HF wrenches would do it, but for that application, I wanted something a little better quality.

Re: Torque Wrench
is it sacrilege to use kobalt and snap on in the same sentence?
