I just did a complete Vintage Air system for my 61. The package was about $1300 with the polished compressor. It was about another $850 for a new set of March Brackets, as I converted from a V-Belt System to Serpentine belt. To have the a/c hoses custom fit to my truck and the system charged, it was $350. I am running the "peanut" compressor which fits in front of the block.
Be sure you tell them whether you need a front mount compressor (Peanut) or if a standard full size compressor will work. The full size compressor will have to mount over the top of the valve cover or completely off to the side of the engine. Of course, that is a California price. I'll see if I can dig up some pics... Here is the configuration with the short compressor, front mount and march brackets system...the first picture is before the a/c hoses were fit and the second was after the system was complete...
