repairing Inner fenders or buy from lmc
I am at the point right now if I should buy new inner fenders or repair mine that came off the truck, lmc sells a patch panel for the front part of the inner fender where it meets the grill panel, that's all that is wrong with mine, but wondering if this patch is worth doing or just go new instead, anyone else repair there inners with this.

Patch might be better off... I've heard some bad things about new inner fenders on here (too short, don't meet grill support). Best bet would be to find some Original ones somewhere. Try a search on here for inner fender misaligned..

We made our own patch. Not a real tough repair.

This is the best I have. I say patch it. Mine was small and up front on the right side. I also patched in the area where the battery tray used to sit in. They are so easy to patch.

Seems like anytime an American made o.e.m part can be saved a person is better off than replacing it with a new and likely imported one.

Completely agree. Always use OEM or NOS whenever possible. I have seen very few aftermarket parts that were equal or better than the original. Nothing ticks me off worse than slicing and dicing on a brand new piece of aftermarket sheetmetal to get it to fit.

If you don't like patching find a good used one off another truck. Reproduction will Always require modification because they're made to fit 60-66 chevy and gmc. That's the main issue right there....GMC was different than chevy. Patches are fairly easy to make for those, but I'm sure a parts truck will have some good ones.

I patched mine myself...just make sure you scrub those things really good and hit them with a good coat of primer. I used a Polyprimer.
The extra effort of using the original sheetmetal (or sheetmetal off of a donor truck) is worth the satisfaction you'll get...plus it adds to your already great story about the truck. Tom
