LMC cowl vent seals

Has anyone else had issues with the cowl vent seals from LMC? I tried to put mine on today and expected some problems immediately when I saw they were rectangular in shape and don't match the vent. I assume they go on the flange the sits against the cowl?
Any insight from others is appreciated and if anyone knows who has a correct set please post the supplier.
Thanks

Re: LMC cowl vent seals

I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm looking for seals for the cowl vents, not the hood to cowl seal. I've checked Soffseal and Steele Rubber in my new catalog and neither have these seals. I ended up using putty tape for RV's etc.. I think my windshield is leaking too as water runs down my firewall onto the floor in a heavy downpour like we had yesterday.

Thanks everybody

Re: LMC cowl vent seals

Another place to check is inside the wheel well.
Where the side kick panel meets the fire wall, there is seam sealer there that cracks and falls off with age.
Had to re-do mine as it was leaking there.
Easier to do with the fender off but possible with fender on.

Re: LMC cowl vent seals

Was wondering if you had a chance to check that out ?
You can test it by running your hose on the seam inside your wheel well leaving the windshield dry.

Sorry its taken so long to reply, but yeah, I checked the wheel well area, and cant see any cracks or missing sealer. I did see water coming in from the cowl area on the right side on top, so will clean it real good and put some new seam sealer on it. I used that tape like stuff for RV's t seal the actual vents, but haven't had any rain for a week or so to check the seal. I have to clean the under side of my truck to get rid of all the oil so may hit the area with a hard spray but not enough to do any damage to the undercoating.
