Grandpas 63 GMC 3/4LB

It took some doing but I finally got her home and in the garage. 47k original miles.

Drained the tank, replaced the fuel pump, and cleaned the carb and she fired right up. Brakes are still not working tho!

New stance in the rear! Converted from a D60 leaf setup to a 12bolt coil and dropped 4". Now I just need to decide on the direction I want to go up front.

Looking great. Are you planning on keeping the woodland green? I plan to paint my 63 short fleet back to its original color which was the woodland green.

That's pretty cool. Does it still have the original v6?

For the time being I am keeping it as is. I would like to not change anything at all and keep the rust etc, unfortunately I need some new metal up front which makes that impossible. The front fenders on the bottom of the wheel well are pretty well shot. The support bracket is all but completely rusted away and the fender is bowing out now. I don't even know that its in good enough shape to put new fender supports in without damaging it further.

In the distant future when/if I decide to do a full resto on the body I would like to paint it a color found on the Mustang for 1 year only... Lava Red Metallic. In some light it looks deep red and in others it looks gloss black.

For now it is just going to be a "rustomod". Im going to complete the front end drop and likely use tubular control arms. Also going to do a 4 wheel disc conversion. Once I find a drive shaft combo that works with my set up I am going to drive it as is.

Yes, original 305 still in it and running like a champ. Needs some carb work and about 20 oil changes to clean out all the gunk, but it runs strong. 47,xxx original miles.

My plan is to drive it with the 305 for a while, but ultimately my vision is a 496 backed by a tremec 5 speed. Or I might just make all the chevy guys cringe and drop in the 351 Windsor I have sitting on an engine stand in my garage just waiting for a home. Not sure I have the knowledge and patience to make that happen/work tho!

Either way I am excited to get her back on the road. When grandpa passed years ago it became a rat nest that rarely moved. She was even a home for an owl for a short while. (uncle left the window down while it was sitting in the corn crib!) I have been begging grandma for years to let me have it, but my uncles still had some interest in it until recently.
