Angry subs under the seats continued........

I just redid the floor in my cab and am hopefully getting some sound deadening Vblock padding in there. Right now I wanna upgrade my sound system too. I work on motors and not stereos so bear with me on this one. I was looking in this post here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&highlight=amp cause i remember the 724X getting his stuff cheap at walmart. I don't think he ever gave the box dimensions though. All i want is probably one 8 to go under the seat and i'm sure an amp to push it. Does anybody know the dimensions to the boxes he used in that forum and did they work?

I don't know on his specifically, but I did a 10 under the seat in my truck. You really need to make measurements of your truck/seat combo and build from there. My solution has been different than most, and more elegant IMO. I use a free air speaker instead of a sealed enclosure. This gains 1" minimum of clearance. The "box" is really an infinite baffle, there is no back in it. It just sits on the floor. I am VERY happy with performance of this system. It is a Kicker Free Air 10, Kicker Impulse 4" separates, and a Crossfire 4x100 amp. Bridged 200x1 in the sub and 100x2 into the separates.

Hey Mike I had seen yours in an earlier post and really liked your setup too. You loose me with all the crossovers and bridge stuff but thats what my stereo bumping friends are for around here. I just thought yours looked kinda high I guess. What type of seat do you got, do you have the stock bench still? What year is yours and does anybody know if theres any difference in the seat heights through the years? I figure that bottom open air would work since I'm really covering up the metal that'll be sittin on. My only other question for you I guess is do you have it mounted down somehow still or do you just let it sit there? I'm just making sure my speaker investment don't fly around underneath the seat
