i got a replacement temp. sensor for my new engine, but....
the holes in the head for the sensor are to big.

the new sensor fits fine in the old 305 heads, but it wont fit in either of my new alum. heads.

Mine was this way on my Edelbrock heads. You'll have to use an adapter. I can't remember exactly what size it is, I think 1/2", but it's just a brass fitting that fits the head and then the sensor screws into this.

i just looked in my holley package again, and found that they sent me the plug for the hole in the other head

also, just for an update. we are bringing all the rest of the stuff over to the machine shop tommorow, and hopefully if the girlfriend permits, i may try and drop the engine back in saturday morning

same problem with my darts but the hole was too small.

Just make sure to get an automotive one. When I installed mine and added coolant the sender was leaking all around it. Difference is automotive one has a stop for the sensor to rest up against to bottom it out. A regular bushing like at Home Depot doesn't have this.

Tim's girlfriend actually encouraged us to work on his truck on Valentine's day. i'm going to his house to help him put in his Dana 60 front axle, crossover and hydraulic steering and a few other goodies he's got for it. she likes his truck so much she gave it a nickname... "Pee Wee"
