clips or brackets on frame ?
Can someone tell me what these brackets or clips are for ? There is one on each side of the frame , they are riveted .The truck has dual exhaust and has the original brackets ,,,these aren't connected to the exhaust. These are just behind the axle.
The truck is a 72 C20 402 , TH400 . Thank You !! Tom |

Re: clips or brackets on frame ?
Could that be part of the spare tire setup? doesn't a thin bar go in there that the tire hangs from?

Don't know, but they're on my coil spring frame too just doing nothing.

Re: clips or brackets on frame ?
Possible it was added for extra strength in the frame there.

Re: clips or brackets on frame ?
Not for that either because mine has the helper leaf setup.

Re: clips or brackets on frame ?
I've seen those on the leaf spring frames for the Dana 60 rears that have the bottoming snubbers on the axle that point up. May have been riveted on from the factory by accident seeing as how you have the coil rear

Re: clips or brackets on frame ?
These are on both of my 72 coil spring C20 trucks. I have a 71 C20 with leaf springs and a dana and it does not have these clips or brackets. one truck has the factory overload leaf set-up and the other has a similar set up but has 4 leaf springs.
