Trim touch-up for deluxe marker lens

See that there silver trim in the picture? I have one of these, and a small area on the trim could use a little touch up (black under the silver). Anyone recommend a product? A silver leaf tip pen may work, though not sure which one.

Re: Trim touch-up for deluxe marker lens

Unless you're in a Concours d'Elegance show I don't think 99% of the people would even notice. BUT, if you're anal about details as my wife says I am, then it makes all the difference in the world. There is a product that modelers have been using for years called Bare Metal. It is a super thin metal foil with adhesive on the back side and it sticks pretty good. They have chrome or brushed as well as gold, copper and chrome black http://www.bare-metal.com/bare-metal-foil.html. I've been using it for years on plastic models & diecast and it works real well. To do it right you'd have to do the whole piece in one shot, with an uncut sheet so there are no lines.

Of course this is only an example of one way to do it if you want it to be as close to factory looking as possible and as cheaply as possible IMO. Are you just trying to fix it on the cheap? Can't you buy a new one? Silver paint like you mentioned would work good and most people wouldn't notice unless you pointed it out.

Thanks. It's actually an NOS deluxe amber piece, so buying a new one isn't really an option, as I'm likely not using the deluxe pieces anyway. It's real nice, but of the four-piece set, it's the only one with a flaw.
