Back into Chevy's again - 71 c30
Hello guys and gals
My son and I picked up a 1971 Custom 1 ton C30 flat bed Dually. Were going to turn it into a Hauler for his race car. Truck came with a 350 that was toast, so we picked up a good running 454 out of a 1985 3/4 ton. Now the fun part starts... Motor mounts and the stands is our first step to getting the it back up and running. More to come soon. Thanks Barry

Here's 2 pic's i have of the c30
One with the 350 that spun a bearing This is the 454 that i dropped in this week. Dropped right in place. I used the sb engine stands with sb motor mounts seems to work but maybe not with headers. Been reading alot of threads, i'll get it correct soon.

With the exception of the bed being a little different and the front bumper being chrome, your truck and mine are twinses. Mine has a 400 4 speed but I'm switching rears for one from a square body dually to get a better ratio and it so it may be able to pass a gas station. Best I can figure it has a 5:38 rear gear. I also want to put in a TH400 I think just because.
