alternater bad?
if i pull my battery neg. cable off and my truck dies the alternater is bad, now im just wondering, i have HEI wont that kill my truck anyway because of no power to the HEI?

If your alt is charging, then the HEI would be getting the power it needs to run even if you pulled the battery out and drove across town.
*note* removing a wire can damave your alt. Not likely, but it can fry the diode s in there. Best way to test is with a volt meter. |

the easiest way to check youre alt in the world , with youre truck running take youre pocketknife or screwdriver or anything similiar , touch it to the little round quarter sized piece directly in the middle of the back of youre alternator , if it is magnetized then you are charging,, and its working
