Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

I don't want to lower the truck. I will to raise it a bet. The 1966 3/4 ton I had in 1986, had 19 1/2" rims, they looked like slipt rims but were not. They looked great.

No offense intended, but I think it's a darn shame to cut down and lower these nice old 3/4 ton survivors

Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

Thank you all for your help. One day that C-10 might resemble a 3/4 ton truck. It should arrive at my door this week. I viewed it first on this site 3 weeks ago.

Thanks a bunch!

Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

Remember though I have a 1/2 ton, I want it to resemble a 3/4 ton. I looked so hard for a 3/4 ton. Couldn't find one. The next one I acquire will be a C-20 for sure.

I think brothers makes a kit for eight lug disc conversion. As i recall it has everything you need but I would think there would be some cutting needed so the disc doesn't hit when turning.

Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

It is definitely possible to convert a C10 to a C20. Are you wanting it to be an original style C20 or do you want front disc brakes and a more highway friendly geared differential?

Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

Yes! I sure would like the C10 to convert to the C20 style. I starting from ground zero I know. I've never owned and drove a C10. I did have two C20's and drove the heck out of them both. One for 8 years and the other for 15 after I put it all together. That's my favorite style. When my C10 gets here I'll show you what I'm into and will be driven. It's primed and needs paint.

Re: 1966 c20 vs. c10

There are ways to get the look you want without changing all the C10 running gear to C20 running gear. There are plenty of larger diameter wheels and tires to choose from.
My current DD is a '68 C10 with 16 inch wheels and 235/85R16's on the rear and 215/85R16's on the front. It does sit much like a C20
