Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Getting closer. I have an appointment with Maaco for 3/17/14. Finally going to have a decent paint job. Top will be a pewter nickel color and the body will be a bright shiny blue, pretty close to the Ford hugger blue.
On the inside the dash will be same as the roof and so will the door inner panels where the handles are. The rest of the doors will be the same as the body as will the panels in the back.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
No problem, I understand how posts get missed. Keep up the good work. I like the 4x4 aspect of the burb. Don't see many 4x4's in my area unless they have been converted over.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
You and me both! It's taken a lot longer than I hoped for. After paint I still need carpet, window seals and A/C / heater installed. Install newly rechromed front grill and bumper. Need to send rear bumper off for chrome. The rear bumper on these are different than the trucks.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Yeah, but your getting the quality that you want, so the wait is well worth it.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Well paint has gone from 5 to 10 days to maybe 6 months. Complete removal of all outside paint. Remove dash for paint. We can't dedicate a person to work solely on this. Price has doubled BUT I did add the interior to the original estimate. I think they are being fair and they are still 2-4K below other estimates.
I told them I'd really want it by the 3rd week in Sept. We'll see.

I now have a nice chrome grill and front bumper, need to get the rear bumper off and sent off to be chromed.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
I bought a front chrome bumper from The Truck Store or is it shop? The grill with rings ran me 200 and chrome was 300. Just got my rear bumper and it is 300.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Went down to Maaco yesterday and picked up my rear bumper. Going to send it to Calif Bumper Boyz to be chromed. They have the drivers door sanded down and rough primered.
Well it's a start...

Please do a google search of "bumper boyz". You'll find countless horror stories. They're awful !

After 3 years of working on my Burb it's finally done, well OK almost... I've been driving it for about 6 weeks now.

Lovin that Burb, the blue and white really make the truck, seems well thought out.

WOW that is very nice
That has to feel good nearing that completion point....but are they ever really done? At least the to do list is much smaller?
