Why the fixed poly & not their swivel joints? The thickness/stiffness of the construction of your arms w/the poly bushings are going to have more binding vs OE arms/bushings.

Very cool idea. I am not an engineer but I would be concerned with how thin the area behind the spring mount and axle kick up might be. Without having a pivoting joint in the front (like suggested above), all of the axle twisting is likely to get concentrated in this area and eventually could fail. That would be very bad at speed. Just my opinion. Either way, nice fab and welding work!

I honestly see no way this will fail. If this was on a 4x4 where there is a ton Of travel I would be going a different route. But with a slammed truck trying to get a couple more inches that only has a few inches of travel with a small notch I do not see a problem. I'm confident is my welds and fabrication. But that's my opinion.

Both are 98% done. Just need to make a little piece to fit behind the spring/bag mount.

well the trailing arms are done and installed.
no issues on the install and the truck drives great. in the end the trailing arms lowered the truck just under three inches. here are a couple photos of the install and truck afterwards. |
