True today...not necessarily tomorrow. These long step 4x4's are getting very hard to find. A lot of people I meet today haven't seen one before. They were rare to start and many have been converted to short steps, etc. Besides I think the long steps give a lot more utility and look better when lifted, just my opinion.

This all depends on who is looking to buy. Although the bulk of the herd only care for a shortbed, there are those who like what they like despite the herd, or just know their trucks and what is or isn't rare. A true truck guy loves them all because they are all trucks. There are shortbed guys (usually car converts) then there are truck guys (usually like shortbeds as cars). A real truck guy would pay for the rarity, now, yesterday, and especially tomorrow. And long Stepside 4wds are just plain cool

Well said, X2. A real pickup truck enthusiast will appreciate the value of a clean well optioned piece of history. ( I'm still drooling over that C 30 stepside SS Tim posted as well)

That c30 is cool, and I have to say I'm tempted with that 9 ft stepside bed to do a c30 4x4 someday....

There is a 70 CST/30 NAPCO chassis cab I wanted to exactly that to since I became aware of it two oners ago. It would be a great truck for sure!

But if you are thinking about a C30 stepside build, a modified 8' bed with the fenders moved back and extended steps seems to make more sense on a working truck.

Re: 1 of 1 truck?

I forgot all about the NAPCO's. I knew chevy didn't make them but thanks for the cool info...I'll keep my eyes peeled!

hmmm... then there were the "not-so-sure-its-a-bed" guys, kinda of lost in the netherworld of indecision!

now if it's done right, and I've only seen a few, an El Camino will get my vote, but for the most part it just never looked right to me.

these things are absurd imo...

I've seen some of those ^ FORD FAIRMONT conversions before they just weren't as balanced as much as a real El camino.

The only ones that ever looked good to me were the mid 80's with the Monte Carlo SS FRONT CLIPS...

Getting back to post information... That number listed earlier can give you breakdowns and they said to look at gmcheritagecenter.com for more and similar info.

I might differ with this ...

A CST 402BB - Turbo 400 - Buckets - Factory AC - and so on would be worth more money than just a SWB truck.

Now a SWB truck with the above options - Yes it would likely be more desirable although I like LWB trucks.

Come to think about it I like all the trucks whether its a SWB or LWB
