Should I remove the front bumper to put new fenders on?

I had some trouble yesterday removing the inner and outer fenders (still joined) as the bumper seemed in the way.

Before I put the new fenders on, should I remove the bumper?

Also, I assume the outer fender goes on first and then the inner fender?

Remove the bumper, remove the inner fenders then the outers. Re-assemble in reverse order. If your fenders are aftermarket, they likely will not fit well and you will need to coax them together with the core support. That's a bit tougher with inners and the bumper on the truck.

99 times of 100 I take the inner off with the outer, as the clips break and you need to lay it down on a bench to hold the broken[rusted] clips from the back with Vice Grips.
Putting the fenders back however you can put the fenders on then put the inners on the fender. It helps a BUNCH to take off the tire. Also you need to remove the bumper first before doing anything up front. I take them off right after the grille just to make things easier. Jim

I figured I should have removed that bumper before taking off the fenders! Oh well.....me stoving-in the bottom of the old fender just saved me from blowing a bunch of money on it trying to fix the rust.

I don't have a torch so I guess I'll rustle up a propane torch to heat up the nuts....I have a feeling my bumper bolts are not going to come off easily. Thanks everyone.

I use one of these with propane and oxygen. It'll get the bolts cherry red if need be and has a pinpoint flame so it doesn't screw-up everything around it. The oxygen is a bit pricey though.
