Re: 95 Suburban K1500 dies & won't start - ChevyTech

Sounds like a crank sensor problem to me. Don't be disheartened but drove a company truck that would do that, run, die, not restart, restart an hour later etc. The wires at the crank sensor were damaged.

Your random no spark no fuel is closely related to what is discussed here.

Re: 95 Suburban K1500 dies & won't start - ChevyTech

Had a little time today & checked the voltage with the engine running. It was low, 0.001 to 0.003 volts. When I went to the higher scale I was getting 0.01 volts or 0.

I will clean the hold down clamp, distributor base & intake when I have more time. Looks like Thursday or Friday, my days off.

I still have the fuel pressure adapter installed so I'll verify fuel pressure as well.

I can't get good readings on the ignition coil because my meter leads are too big. Could the coil cause this?

I didn't order the spare ICM yet. If I can't track down the cause of the missing I may buy a new disrtibutor.

I believe that is for Vortec engines, 96 & newer on the K1500 Suburbans. My truck is a 1995, TBI engine.

I could be wrong though.
