Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

Today's progress: seats out of parts burb, check. Back clamshells off parts burb, check. Quarter panel window out of parts burb, check. Garbage and mice cleaned out, check. What's next? Pressure wash parts burb and get all windows out and all fenders off. I will then bring the fenders home to straighten them out in the evenings.

Also, Does anyone know the best way to remove what I would call the threshold from the back of a burb. I am referring to the part above the panel with the hinge pockets. See pic:

Thanks. It will be a long term deal but will act as a good stress reliever.

I have no experience with this but logic tells me if you blast the area to be removed (or wire wheel it very thoroughly) you'll be able to see the spot welds, drill them out and with a chisel or air chisel get it out. I may be off but that seems like the approach I'd take.

Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

The one in the 1953 GMC Burb is good but really dented. The one in the parts burb 1949 chevy is really straight. I am just trying to decide if it is worth it vs straightening the really dented one.

Re: Deal made on 1950 and 1952/3 burbs.

A factory assembly manual will be the best $30 you spend on the truck. Shows how it was built, all the hidden metal and all the parts that have been removed or fallen off that you will not think off. Also detailed sealant, gasket, electrical, etc. info. Don't know about the AD manual, but my TF one has a whole section dedicated to the panels and burbs....

Made more progress today. There is still more clean up to be done before the rebuild phase.
